SoCal OTMX: A social club for those with an MX addiction!

SoCal Vet MX holds motocross races at a wide variety of tracks in Southern California, such as Cahuilla Creek, Glen Helen Raceway (Main and Vet track), LA County Raceway, Perris Raceway and Lake Elsinore. Typically, SoCal Vet MX is the promoter and we hold our own motos for members (over 30) and Support (under 30, family members, or ride a second class). When we join a promoter at a track, we have separate practices and races for our members. We normally race twice a month and never on holiday weekends.

The club has four skill classifications of riders: Novice, Intermediate, Expert and Master. There are separate age classes for each skill: 30+, 40+, 50+, 60+, 70+, and 80+ (really!). A new club member will be placed in a class based on experience and ability and will have two guest rides to determine if he/she is in the right class. Our goal is for riders to have fun and be competitive in his/her class. We have a race committee and riders will be promoted to the appropriate class during the year. Points are awarded for race results and totals are maintained for year-end awards at our annual banquet.

SoCal Vet MX is one of 10 chapters in the International Vet MX Association (formerly Old Timers), with chapters from Phoenix in the south to British Columbia, Canada in the north. Each chapter, including SoCal, operates independently, using the International OTMX as a guide. We do our own score keeping, we have our own charter, and our own rulebook for our SoCal chapter. Each chapter hosts one invitational International race weekend per year, International points are maintained, and year-end standings are recognized. The International events have classes for 30 plus, 40 plus, 50 plus, 60 plus, and 70 plus.

You must be turning 30 years old during the year to join the club, we have Vet MX members in their 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, and our oldest member is 84. The SoCal Vet MX annual membership fee is $35.

Membership applications are available at all races. Families are encouraged to attend all races and events. Our annual banquet is held in January or February and features food, fun, awards, and prizes!

We try to have a good time and want to be known as a friendly club. SoCal Vet MX is one of the largest chapters with over 200 members! Please call or visit us at one of our races.
